How we transform the lives of children in need
Many children in India do not have the basics of life that most of us are lucky enough to take for granted – enough food, safety, adequate housing, access to good quality education and medical care.
We provide these for free to hundreds of children in need in our area every single year, through our long-term care and educational programmes.
Our dairy farm uses everything it produces: manure, cow urine, milk. Nothing goes to waste and there are no pollutants. The cows are treated with the love and respect that they deserve, and are cared for lovingly even in their old age, when they are no longer ‘productive’, until their natural death. Whenever possible we use natural medicine to treat their wounds or illnesses. They graze on organic pastures and are given extra organic fodder that we grow ourselves. Most of the cows are of indigenous varieties, or partly so.
Our dairy farm shows that the humane treatment of farm animals, environmental sustainability and productivity can go hand in hand!
Pollution, deforestation, chemical agriculture, expanding industries and human activities, rapidly diminishing ground water levels and drought – all these have caused our immediate natural environment to suffer greatly.
To stop this cycle of degradation we need to help Mother Earth restore her natural wealth, purity and innate harmony, for the benefit of all that live on her.
Outreach & educational initiatives
Our school and hostel conduct regular educational environmental awareness programmes for the children. Our school children have also conducted programmes in other schools to share the knowledge they have gained.
We also regularly conduct free workshops for farmers in the area to give them practical instruction on organic agriculture, bio-dynamic agriculture, agro-forestry and water conservation.
